The Fisheries Development Board is an autonomous body, working under the Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Government of Pakistan, committed to promoting sustainable fisheries and aquaculture practices. Our mission is to support the development of the aquaculture and Fishing industry in a way that benefits both the environment and the communities that depend on it. Through research, advocacy, and partnership building, we strive to create a thriving and resilient fisheries sector that contributes to food security, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
The aim of the Fisheries Development Board is to promote the development of a sustainable and profitable aquaculture sector in Pakistan. We aim to achieve this by working closely with government agencies, industry stakeholders, and local communities to develop and implement policies and programs that support the growth of the sector. Our focus is on promoting high-value fish species in aquaculture and sustainable fishing practices, improving the quality and safety of fish products, and enhancing the competitiveness of the industry in local and international markets. Our ultimate goal is to ensure the long-term viability of the fisheries industry, while also preserving the health of our lands and marine ecosystems.
