The University of Gwadar was formally operationalized and started functioning as a full-fledged autonomous university as the University of Gwadar soon after appointing a Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar by Governor Balochistan on 25th October 2021. Earlier it remained a Sub Campus of the University of Turbat from September 2016 to October 2021 and then transformed into a full-fledged university as the University of Gwadar on 25th October 2021.
